JOURNALISM. EDITORIAL PROJECTS. PODCASTING.

Journalism

Although my current work is mostly focussed on writing books, public speaking and digital consultancy, I’ve worked as an award-winning journalist for 21 years, both in senior management and as a freelancer writing long form features, blogs and news around mainstream lifestyle which comprised of women’s issues, dating, relationships, fitness, mental health, and equality-based articles. I currently write a regular column for The i Paper.

My previous role as Executive Editor and Global Lifestyle Head for HuffPost UK included editorial, digital strategy, commercial, projects and brand work. I managed two teams and was deputy editor for the whole site, as well as global lifestyle content strategy. As a freelance writer and editor now, I write for online and print publications, across different mediums from commentary to well-researched investigative pieces.

Here are some of the links to publications I have written for:

Editorial Projects

I’ve worked on editorial launches, start-ups and incubator projects that have involved building out the editorial and social media strategy, working alongside commercial and mar-comms.

At HuffPost, I created and innovated several month-long projects which were way ahead of their time, which focussed on women - looking at different, lived-in experiences and issues affecting women. I created a project for men, looking at untangling what is now termed as ‘modern day masculinity’ and an intersectional look at being a parent, respectively, spear-heading the idea of having prominent guest editors to champion the message.

These were:
All Women Everywhere (guest editors: Jameela Jamil & Emilia Clarke)
Building Modern Men
Thriving Families (guest editor: Jamie Oliver)
Sustainable Fashion (guest editor: Livia Firth)
